Role Overview
We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the long-term strategy and roadmap for TerraFlow’s Energy Management System (EMS) and software platform. This role sits at the intersection of customer needs, energy operations, market strategy, and engineering execution.
You will help define how customers interact with and operate TerraFlow battery systems, translating complex operational and grid requirements into intuitive, scalable software products. This is an ideal role for someone who understands energy systems, industrial software, or grid-edge applications and enjoys shaping products from early-stage growth through commercial deployment.
The ideal candidate combines strong product thinking with a deep curiosity about energy storage, operator workflows, SCADA/EMS systems, and the evolving energy market landscape.
Responsibilities
- Own the long-term product roadmap for TerraFlow’s EMS and software platform.
- Conduct market and customer research to identify high-value product opportunities and competitive differentiation.
- Define and prioritize major platform capabilities based on customer needs, operational workflows, and business strategy.
- Translate customer, operator, and grid requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, and feature definitions.
- Partner closely with software, controls, and hardware engineering teams to align roadmap priorities with technical execution.
- Drive go-to-market coordination for software features, customer deployments, and product positioning.
- Develop a deep understanding of energy storage operations, battery management workflows, SCADA/EMS systems, and grid-edge applications.
- Gather feedback from customers, field deployments, and internal teams to continuously refine product direction and usability.
- Support product planning for monitoring, alarming, reporting, fleet management, dispatch workflows, and operational analytics.
- Monitor industry trends in energy storage, distributed energy resources (DERs), energy markets, utilities, and industrial software platforms.
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in product management, technical product leadership, or related roles.
- Experience building or managing software products for energy storage, EMS/SCADA platforms, DERs, industrial IoT, utilities, or grid-edge systems.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and customer-facing capabilities.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional engineering teams in highly technical environments.
- Familiarity with operational workflows for industrial systems, power systems, or energy infrastructure.
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills in fast-paced startup or growth-stage environments.
- Passion for building software products that solve real operational and energy challenges.
Nice to Have
- Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, or utility-scale energy projects.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols and systems such as OPC UA, Modbus, SCADA, or telemetry platforms.
- Understanding of energy markets, demand response, or grid services.
- Experience working with customer deployments in industrial or critical infrastructure environments
